We must lead a rational and geo-climatically compatible lifestyle to stay healthy. Faulty
lifestyle is the next important reason after wrong food habits for deterioration of general
health condition of the population. Ayurveda attaches significant importance to maintain
a proper lifestyle to envisage a long and healthy life. The concept of lifestyle is reflected in Charya and Sadvritta of Ayurveda. Both Dinacharya - daily routine and Ritucharya- seasonal routine prescribes the preventive and remedial measures to be followed to keep us healthy and delays the ageing process.

Dinacharya states the exhaustive roadmap and modus operandi of  daily routine activities like when to get up, brushing, defecation, massage, bath, tongue cleaning, etc. following which one can stay healthy for long time. Seasonal changes demands a great degree of adaptability to counter the inevitable detrimental factors and thus one needs to take specific measures to be able to adapt optimally and stay healthy. These measures are specific for each season and collectively are known as Ritucharya. If one sticks to these regimens then it is unlikely to get
the seasonal diseases like common cold, viral fever, etc. Sadvritta or code of conduct tells how to lead a civilized social life which is very essential a better mental health.
